About Carol Bornstein Consulting, LLC
Carol began her journey into the non-profit world as a public television and radio fundraiser, helping stations across the country to raise millions of dollars in viewer contributions. After a four-year hiatus from public broadcasting to work with The American Diabetes Association, Carol came to Houston to work for Houston Public Media as their Director of Individual Development. (To this day, you may see her appear from time to time as a guest host during Houston Public Media on-air membership drives!)
To meet the needs of her growing family, in 2002 Carol made the difficult decision to leave Houston Public Media, although she continued to volunteer her services for non-profit organizations close to home. A few years later, Carol found that she could enjoy the “best of both worlds” by working as a part-time contractor. The flexible hours enabled Carol to fulfill her personal goals by serving non-profit organizations with her experience and talents, while freeing her from a standard “9 to 5” schedule so that she could devote time to her young children. With grant writing as the primary focus of her consulting, Carol is able to utilize the skills that she honed through years of writing grant applications, event sponsorship appeals and donor direct mail solicitations on behalf of the various non-profit organizations with which she worked and volunteered.
Carol formalized her consulting in 2014 with Carol Bornstein Consulting, LLC., and now serves non-profit clients in the greater Houston area and beyond. Since launching Carol Bornstein Consulting, LLC in 2014, proposals that Carol has written have helped her clients collectively raise close to three million dollars in competitive grant funds from government agencies, private and corporate foundations.
