About Carol Bornstein Consulting, LLC

Carol has always worked in the nonprofit sector. She began her nonprofit career as a public television and radio fundraiser over 35 years ago, helping stations in four states raise millions of dollars in viewer and listener contributions. While on hiatus from her career in public broadcasting to raise three children, she began consulting part-time and volunteering her skills with Houston-area nonprofit organizations.

Carol formalized her consulting business in 2014 with Carol Bornstein Consulting, LLC. She currently serves nonprofit clients in Houston, Texas, and Philadelphia, Pennsylvania.  Carol’s firm specializes in private and corporate foundation grant writing and prospect research, as well as coaching in funder cultivation, grants compliance, and grants calendar management services.

Carol earned a bachelor's degree in agricultural economics from the University of Wisconsin and a master's in public administration from the University of Central Florida. She holds a Grant Professional Certification (GPC) credential and is the immediate past president of the Southeast Texas Chapter of the Grant Professionals Association. Carol serves as a volunteer Chapter Support Liaison on a national level for the Grant Professionals Association and volunteers with the scholarship review committee for the Grant Professionals Foundation. She is also an active member of the Rotary Club of Asheville.

In her spare time, Carol enjoys reading, hiking, and traveling. While Carol was proud to call Houston home for 27 years, she now resides in Asheville, North Carolina, with her husband Gene and her very spoiled dog, Meghan.
